We’re moving and trying to condense our stuff but it doesn’t ALL have to go. I’ve had this painting down in my basement for a long time and it is not the easiest thing to transport especially across 1000 miles while picking up a time zone. This pictable was painted at disc golf tournament my church sponsored. During the event I setup and started painting. This a simple illustration of the Gospel. Christ’s sacrifice on the cross is center focus separating the results of our reaction to His gift are on each side. On the left is a dead tree and a graveyard that symbolizes our lives without Christ’s redemptive work in us. The right side shows a vibrant tree, stream and sunrise. They all represent the new life that Jesus renews in us when we confess with our mouths that He is Lord and believe in our hearts that He has been raised from the dead.
Since I wanted to give it to someone who would want, use and appreciate it, it found its way to the youth room at the Hannibal Evangelical Free Church. They graciously accepted it and I pray that many youth will visually see and hear the Gospel explained to them. May the Spirit move, Christ be lifted up and many come to know Him!
