Performance

What is performance art?

Webster’s Online Dictionary defines it as:

a nontraditional art form often with political or topical themes that typically features a live presentation to an audience or onlookers (as on a street) and draws on such arts as acting, poetry, music, dance, or painting

This is where the pictable steps in and what defines the main aspect of this experience. An exciting, captivating, creation of art in a live setting to help either establish a theme or to support one. The blank canvas entices the viewer into a questioning state of thought and builds their curiosity as they wonder what will be created. As the artist begins the painting, all eyes are on the canvas as it begins the journey towards completion. In its purest form, the pictable is a story in picture form. As the story unfolds in front of the audience, characters, symbolism and colors are used to creatively tell the story in a rather unique way. At the completion of the painting, the viewer will not only have a visula to stimulate their mind but also the experience of watching it created before their eyes in that certain context and environment.

In more simple terms, the pictable is a performance art tool that can be used to add a visual to your conference, concert or event. We can work with you to create that visual that will help embrace your theme or topic. Then during the presentation, a large painting is created in front of the audience. This experience can help the retention of a particular theme or add another level of connection to the viewer. However you look at it, the painting adds to the experience that someone takes home with them.

It’s powerful. It’s effective. It’s flexible. It can be customized to fit your event.
